An "active retrospective"
Typically the retrospective sums up an artist's career, his explorations, different
paths, cycles or styles he went through over time.
Anton Molnár's retrospective is constant, thus "active". The richness of the
world he sees and absorbs around him is reflected in the diversity of his
painting. One style, one expression wouldn't be sufficient to translate the
overwhelming diversity he captures.
His way of thinking and grasping the surrounding environments and
atmospheres led him to the irrepressible impulse of a multiplicity of artistic
languages. He needs figurative, abstract, mixed media, installations, even a
media he invented : "sculpture-painting" to fully express the tremendous
mental archives he perceives and records
A way of working that is fairly uncommon and not always easy to comprehend
as an artist often stays within one specific area of style.
